Seaperch Under Water Robotics Club

Purpose: SeaPerch is an underwater robotics program. Students and teachers are equipped with the resources they need to learn about basic science and engineering concepts, tool safety, technical applications, problem-solving and teamwork skills in an exciting and hands-on way. SeaPerch is a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), a competition, and a community. Our program guides students on building an underwater robot while supplying educators with the tools and training to help them through the process.
VEX Robotics

The National Honor Society (NHS)

Purpose: The HSA-Houston's eligibility for membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is based on leadership, service, attendance, and character. The faculty sets minimum standards for leadership, character, and service, as well as attendance at club meetings. The NHS supports recognizing young scholars who are highly dedicated, hoping to make a contribution to their school and community, and places emphasis on its four pillars: the values of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. HSA-Houston NHS is looking for students who balance academic performance with participation in school clubs and events as well as community service. HSA-Houston NHS has lots of great service projects planned, and members can also bring in their own ideas. Students in grades 10–12 who meet the requirements for membership outlined by their school’s chapter are eligible to be invited for membership.
Service Leadership Society

Purpose: Service Leadership Society provides students the opportunity to engage in addressing issues they believe are important through participating in a mock legislative process and networking opportunities with other Harmony campuses at the State Conference in Austin. In addition, SLS provides students an opportunity to engage with local elected officials from local, state, and federal offices. Students will also have an opportunity explore future intern opportunities. All of these roles and functions of SLS will pave the way for Harmony students to develop leadership characteristics and opportunities.

Purpose: Spanish-speaking activities! We promote collaboration in approved events, offer optional participation in Lote competitions, provide scholarships, and encourage student writing competitions. Our engaging activities include cooking, sewing, homework tasks, mentoring in Spanish conversation, light translating, and welcoming guests. You can also participate in National Spanish Exams, publish poetry and approved writings in Spanish magazines, and join the Lote poster contest during Hispanic Heritage Month and AATSP. Game Club

Purpose: The Game Club is a meeting of gamers to socialize, have fun, and to celebrate the history of video games from the past up until the present. Students will learn the history of the industry as well as its many careers. There are many careers in the gaming industry: game designers, programmers, conceptual artists, storyboarding, animators, prop designers, costume designers, environment designers, marketing, legal- just to name a few. In this club, we will explore the many careers associated with video games. Video games are a part of our history from its earliest creation in the late 1940s, to present day. Video games have evolved to include challenge, strong narrative, and a strong presence in the world of art. Video games will keep evolving. We will explore many games throughout history, the many genres and where video games are headed in the future. Students will have fun in this club. Video games have been studied to promote critical thinking skills, alertness, and mental cognition. It can help people with deficits in attention. Furthermore, video games can be social and bring people together to promote positivity.
